What Extract Data from PDF does

Extracting data from a PDF means pulling specific values, such as invoice numbers, dates or totals, out of a document and into a format you can work with. Wispdf sends the text, not the file, to our AI model, which finds the fields you ask for. Each value shows where it came from and how confident the AI is, and totals are double-checked by math.

Questions about Extract Data from PDF

How many credits does data extraction use?
Extract Data from PDF uses 1 AI credit per page, or 3 per scanned page. You get 1 AI task a day without an account and 30 credits a day with a free account. Pro includes 1,500 credits a month plus batches of up to 100 files, with a 7-day free trial and no card.
Is my invoice uploaded to your servers?
No. Extract Data from PDF sends the extracted text, not the file, to our AI model. The text is never used to train models. Without an account, your chats are deleted after 24 hours. With an account, you decide how long chats are kept and can delete them whenever you like.
Can I choose my own fields?
Yes. Extract Data from PDF has ready sets for invoices, receipts, bank statements, purchase orders, resumes and contracts. If your document is something else, define your own fields, such as policy number or delivery date, and the AI looks for those instead. When you are happy with the results, export them as JSON, CSV or Excel.
What if the AI reads a value wrong?
It can happen, especially on blurry scans or unusual layouts. Extract Data from PDF shows where each value came from and how confident the AI is, so you know which ones to check first. Totals are double-checked by math, not by AI. Look over any low-confidence values before you export or pay anything.
Does it work on a phone or a Mac?
Yes. Extract Data from PDF runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook, iPhone, iPad and Android, with no app to install. A phone works well for a single receipt or invoice. A computer makes it easier to review a full table of values before you export.
Can it read scanned receipts?
Yes. Extract Data from PDF handles scanned pages as well as digital ones. A scanned page costs 3 AI credits, while a digital page costs 1. Clear, straight scans give the AI the best chance, so if you are capturing paper with your phone, Scan to PDF can find the edges and straighten each page first.
