Terms of service

1. Who you are agreeing with

These terms are an agreement between you and Hermes Ventures Pvt Ltd, a company registered in India ("Wispdf", "we", "us"). They apply to wispdf.com and every tool, page and service on it (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you use Wispdf for a company or other organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and "you" includes that organization.

2. What Wispdf does

Wispdf provides online tools to create, convert, edit, organize, sign and protect PDF files. Most tools run entirely in your browser, on your device. Some tools, marked as server tools on their page, send your file to our servers to process it. Paid plans add higher limits and extra features. We describe each tool on its own page, and that description is part of what we promise.

3. Who can use Wispdf

You can use the free tools without an account. To create an account or buy a plan you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. The Service is not directed at children under 13, and children under 18 may use it only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

4. Accounts

When accounts are available, you sign in with an email code or with Google. Keep access to your email and Google account secure, because anyone who controls them can sign in as you. You are responsible for activity on your account. A Pro or 7-Day Pass account is for one person; sharing a login is not allowed. Team plans let an admin add and remove members, and the admin controls the team's billing and its members' access.

5. Your files stay yours

You keep all rights in the files you use with Wispdf. On-device tools never send your file to us. For server tools and saved files, you give us permission to store, copy and process your file only as needed to run the tool you chose and to show the result to you. That permission ends when the file is deleted. We do not read your files, use them to train AI models, sell them or show them to anyone else, except where the law requires us to.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Wispdf to:

  • process files you have no right to use, or break anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights
  • create, store or share illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities
  • remove copy protection or passwords from files you are not entitled to unlock
  • upload malware, or attack, probe, overload or reverse engineer the Service, its security or its limits
  • get around plan limits, usage counters or bot checks, or resell the Service without our written agreement
  • scrape the site or run automated traffic against it, other than ordinary search engine crawling

If you break these rules, we may limit, suspend or close your access. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it. We may act without notice where the law requires it or to protect the Service or other people.

7. Plans, payments and renewals

  • Free: the free tools and limits shown on the pricing page cost nothing and need no card.
  • Subscriptions (Pro monthly or yearly, Team monthly or yearly): you pay in advance for each billing period. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then current price until you cancel. We email you before every renewal: 3 days before a monthly renewal, and 30 and 7 days before a yearly renewal.
  • 7-Day Pass: a one-time payment for 7 days of Pro access. It does not renew.
  • Team seats: Team plans are billed per seat, with a minimum of 2 seats. Added seats are charged right away for the rest of the period; removed seats stop billing at the next renewal.
  • Upgrades and downgrades: an upgrade takes effect immediately and you pay the prorated difference. A downgrade takes effect at your next renewal.
  • Cancelling: you can cancel any time from your account's billing page or from the link in any renewal email. You keep paid access until the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again.
  • Reseller: our order process is run by Paddle.com, who is the merchant of record for all our orders. Paddle provides customer service for orders and handles returns, and its buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
  • Taxes: prices are in US dollars. Paddle adds any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you live at checkout.
  • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, Paddle retries it. If it still fails after 7 days, your account moves to the Free plan; your saved files stay available to download for 30 days.
  • Price changes: if we change a price, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we tell you at least 30 days before it does. You can cancel before then.
  • Refunds: all payments are final. See the Refund policy, which is part of these terms.
  • Chargebacks: if you dispute a charge with your bank instead of contacting us or Paddle, we may suspend the account while the dispute is open.

8. AI tools

AI tools are not available yet. When they open, their results may be wrong or incomplete, so check them before you rely on them. You are responsible for how you use what an AI tool produces. Files and text you send to an AI tool are processed by the provider named in our Privacy policy, under the terms described there.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Wispdf available and fast, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove tools and features. If we remove a paid feature that is a main reason for your plan, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and you may cancel; where you have paid for a period you cannot use because of our change, Paddle will refund the unused part.

10. Our software and brand

Wispdf, its software, design, text and logos belong to Hermes Ventures Pvt Ltd or its licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these terms. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms, listed on our licenses page. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely without owing you anything.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using Wispdf at any time and delete your account from your account settings. Deleting your account cancels any subscription at the end of its current period and deletes your saved files as described in the Privacy policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Sections 5, 10, 12, 13 and 14 continue after your use ends.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond the ones in these terms, including any implied promise that the Service is fit for a particular purpose or that a file will convert perfectly. Keep your own copies of important files; do not rely on Wispdf as your only copy.

13. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill
  • our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or removes rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except that if you are a consumer living in another country, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live and keep the protection of that country's mandatory consumer laws. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue; we aim to reply within 7 days.

15. Grievance Officer

In line with Indian law, our Grievance Officer at Hermes Ventures Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru, India, is reachable through the "Email us" link below. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within one month.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we will show a notice on the site and email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. Changes needed for legal or security reasons may take effect sooner. If you keep using Wispdf after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
