What PDF to Excel does

Converting a PDF to Excel means finding the tables on its pages and turning them into rows and columns in an XLSX spreadsheet. Wispdf does this on our servers, where there is software heavy enough to spot tables, then deletes your file within an hour. For messy or scanned tables, an optional AI mode uses AI credits to rebuild them more carefully.

Questions about PDF to Excel

Is PDF to Excel free?
PDF to Excel is part of the free daily allowance: 2 tasks a day without an account, 3 with a free account, and files up to 50 MB. It is unlimited with Pro or a 7-Day Pass. The optional AI mode also uses AI credits: 30 a day with a free account and 1,500 a month on Pro.
Is it safe to convert a bank statement with PDF to Excel?
PDF to Excel runs on our servers, so your statement does leave your device. It is encrypted on the way, converted, and deleted within an hour, and nobody looks at it. If you would rather keep a statement on your device, PDF to Text runs entirely in your browser and still gets the numbers out as plain text.
Can PDF to Excel handle scanned or messy tables?
Yes, with the optional AI mode. A scanned page is a picture, and some tables have no lines or have cells that span several rows. Turn on AI mode in PDF to Excel and it uses AI to rebuild those tables into proper rows and columns. It costs AI credits, and what it reads is never used for training.
Will my tables come out right in Excel?
Clear tables with ruled rows usually land in the right cells with PDF to Excel. Merged headers, wrapped rows or footnotes inside the grid may need a small cleanup in your spreadsheet. Whatever the source, it is worth checking a few totals against the PDF before you rely on the numbers.
Can I use PDF to Excel on my phone?
Yes. PDF to Excel works in any modern browser on iPhone, iPad, Android and Chromebook, as well as Windows, Mac and Linux. There is nothing to install. Choose the PDF, convert it, and open the XLSX in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers on the same device.
Do I need Microsoft Excel to open the file?
No. PDF to Excel gives you a standard XLSX file, which opens in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers and LibreOffice Calc. If you prefer another spreadsheet app, open the XLSX there and save it in that app's own format once you have checked the data.
