Questions about Sign PDF

Is Sign PDF free?
Yes. Sign PDF is free and unlimited, and you do not need an account. You can sign as many documents as you want, as often as you want. Because signing happens on your device, the only practical limit is memory, which is comfortably around 1 GB of PDFs on a computer and less on a phone.
Is a signature from Sign PDF legally valid?
In the US, the ESIGN Act means electronic signatures are widely accepted for everyday documents such as forms, agreements and permission slips. Some documents have extra rules, including wills, certain court papers and anything that must be notarized. If a document is important or unusual, check with whoever asked for your signature. This is general information, not legal advice.
What kind of signature does Sign PDF create?
Sign PDF creates a simple electronic signature. That is a drawn, typed or uploaded image of your signature placed on the page, along with initials or a date if you add them. If you need other people to sign as well, or you want an audit trail and a certificate of completion, use Request Signatures instead.
Where does my document go when I sign it?
Nowhere. Sign PDF runs inside your browser, so the PDF is never uploaded to our servers. Signatures you choose to save also stay on your device and are not sent to us. A signed lease or contract stays exactly as private as it was on your computer or phone before you opened it here.
Can I sign a PDF on my iPhone or Android phone?
Yes. Sign PDF works in any modern browser on iPhone, iPad, Android, Chromebook, Windows, Mac and Linux, with no app to install. On a touch screen you can draw your signature with your finger, which often looks more natural than one drawn with a mouse. Open the PDF, sign, place it and download the result.
Can I reuse my signature next time?
Yes. When you save a signature in Sign PDF, it is kept on the device and browser you used, ready for the next document. It is never uploaded. Because it lives on that device, it will not show up on your other devices, and clearing your browser data may remove it, so you might need to create it again.
