Questions about Edit PDF

Is Edit PDF free?
Mostly, yes. Adding text, images, shapes and links, and rearranging pages, are free and unlimited with no account. Changing the existing text in the PDF, and find and replace, need Pro or a 7-Day Pass ($9, paid once). Pro is $8.25 a month billed yearly, and you can try it free for 7 days with no card.
Is my PDF uploaded when I edit it?
No. Edit PDF runs in your browser for both the free and the Pro edits. Your file stays on your device the whole time, and nothing is sent to our servers. That means there is no copy for us to store or delete, even when you are changing the wording of a contract or a resume.
How do I add text to a PDF?
Open Edit PDF, choose your file and pick the text option. Click where you want the words to go, type, and move the box into place. You can add images, shapes and links the same way, and drag pages into a new order. When you are done, save the edited PDF. All of this is free.
Can I change the existing text in a PDF?
Yes, with Pro. Edit PDF can change the words that are already in your PDF, and find and replace a word or phrase across the file. This needs real text in the file. In a scanned PDF the words are part of a picture of the page, so there is no text there to change.
Can I edit a PDF on my iPhone or Mac?
Yes. Edit PDF works in any modern browser on iPhone, iPad, Android, Chromebook, Mac, Windows and Linux, with no app to install. Small fixes are easy on a phone. For long documents or careful layout work, a computer gives you more room on screen and more memory to work with.
What is the difference between Edit PDF and Annotate PDF?
Edit PDF changes the content of the page: new text, images, shapes and links, and with Pro, the existing text. Annotate PDF is for review and markup, such as highlights, underlines, comments, drawings and stamps. Use Edit PDF to fix the document itself, and Annotate PDF to give feedback on it. Both run on your device.
