Questions about Annotate PDF

Is Annotate PDF free?
Yes. Annotate PDF on Wispdf is free and unlimited, with no account needed. Every tool, from highlights to stamps, is included. Because it runs on your device, there are no daily limits. The practical limit is your device's memory, comfortably around 1 GB of PDFs on a computer and less on a phone.
Do my comments or my file get uploaded?
No. Annotate PDF runs on your device, inside your browser. Your PDF and every highlight, comment and drawing you add stay with you. Nothing is sent to our servers, so there is nothing for us to store or delete. That makes it a comfortable choice for marking up contracts, exam papers or anything private.
How do I highlight text in a PDF?
Open Annotate PDF, choose your file and pick the highlight tool. Select the text you want to mark and it is highlighted. Underline and strikethrough work the same way. Add a comment beside a highlight if you want to explain why it matters, then save the annotated PDF to your device.
Can I make my markup permanent?
Yes. After you save from Annotate PDF, run the file through Flatten PDF. Flattening turns annotations into ordinary page content, so nobody can change them and they print the same everywhere. Keep an unflattened copy as well if you think you might want to edit or remove your comments later.
Can I annotate a PDF on an iPad or phone?
Yes. Annotate PDF works in any modern browser on iPad, iPhone, Android, Chromebook, Windows, Mac and Linux, and there is no app to install. Freehand drawing feels natural with a finger on a touch screen, while a keyboard makes long comments quicker to type.
Can I sign a PDF while I annotate it?
For a signature, use Sign PDF, which is built for it. You can draw, type or upload your signature, add initials and the date, and place them anywhere on the page. Saved signatures stay on your device. Like Annotate PDF, it is free and runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
