What Crop PDF does

Cropping a PDF means trimming the edges of its pages so only the part you want shows. In Wispdf you draw a crop box on a page, then apply it to every page or only the pages you select. It suits wide white margins and the dark borders scanners leave. Everything happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

People use it to

  • Trim the wide margins from a research paper so it reads better on a tablet
  • Clean up the dark scanner border around old family recipes before sharing
  • Crop a shipping label PDF down to just the label before printing it

Questions about Crop PDF

Is Crop PDF free to use?
Yes. Crop PDF is free and unlimited, and you don't need an account, Pro or a pass. Crop as many files as you need. It runs on your device, so the practical limit is your device's memory: comfortably around 1 GB of PDFs on a computer, and less on a phone.
Does Crop PDF upload my file anywhere?
No. Crop PDF works entirely in your browser, so your file stays on your device from the moment you open it to the moment you save. Our servers never receive it. That's useful for scanned IDs, signed forms and other paperwork you'd rather keep to yourself.
How do I crop only some pages of a PDF?
Open your file in Crop PDF and draw the crop box on a page. Then choose to apply it to selected pages and pick the ones that need trimming. The other pages keep their original size. If different pages need different crops, crop one group, save, and open the new file again for the next group.
Will cropping reduce the quality of my PDF?
No. Crop PDF changes which part of each page shows. It doesn't redraw or compress what's left, so text stays sharp and images keep their resolution. The result looks as if the page edges moved in, with everything inside the crop box just as it was before.
Can I crop a PDF on my phone?
Yes. Crop PDF works in any modern browser on iPhone, iPad and Android, plus Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook, with nothing to install. Drawing a precise crop box is easier on a larger screen, so for fine adjustments a computer or tablet may feel more comfortable.
Can I crop out private information instead of redacting it?
It's better not to. Crop PDF is meant for tidying how pages look, such as trimming margins and scan borders. To remove names, numbers or other private details for good, use Redact PDF. It deletes the content under each box, then checks that the hidden text is really gone.
